From the tear-jerker movie Sa 'Yo Lamang, Star Cinema promises to bring laughter and romance to viewers for their newest 17th anniversary movie offering titled I Do. This will be the launching movie of young actors Enchong Dee and Erich Gonzales as a loveteam.

Both young actors are excited about I Do since it will be different from projects they've done in the past. Their previous TV shows--namely Katorse, Tanging Yaman, and their current primetime series Magkaribal--were all heavy drama. Enchong was also part of the family drama Sa 'Yo Lamang wherein he played the son of Lorna Tolentino and Christopher de Leon.

"Ito, we're enjoying it. Kumbaga, i-aarte namin na pwedeng hindi dapat sa eksena, biglang mapapasali kasi ang ganda ng kinalabasan. Kumbaga, ito ay natural, mas natural siya," said Enchong about the movie when PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) visited the set of I Do yesterday, September 7, in Quezon City.

I Do, according to Enchong, is inspired by a true story of young lovers who were willing to fight for their relationship. He pointed out, "Makikita nila kung gaano katotoo 'yong mga nangyayari sa mga nag-iibigan sa panahong ito."

Erich further described, "Kumbaga, kung maniniwala ka ba sa destiny, 'yong fate, kung kayo ay meant to be na ba talaga forever, and kung paano mo mahahanap 'yong the one mo. Nakakatuwa rin kasi comedy rin siya. I'm sure maraming makaka-relate dito."

Since this is their launching movie and the first mainstream film of Erich, the young Kapamilya stars admit that they feel a bit pressured to do well in the box-office.

Enchong related, "Definitely mas malaki na ang pressure kasi Star Cinema na 'to, e. Kumbaga, everyone is dreaming to work with Star Cinema. 'Yong result will depend on a lot of things sa amin."

But he says that they tend to forget about it once they arrive on the set because their actors are always fun to work with.

He related, "Nakakatuwa po 'yong kinukwento nila 'yong sarili nilang experiences. Like, si Melai [Cantiveros], si Kuya Dennis [Padilla]. At saka kasi kailangan mo rin ang closeness sa set para lumabas sa movie. And nakakatawa kasi it comes out naturally with Ate Pokwang and everyone."

WORKING WITH THE DIRECTOR. Aside from their relationship with their co-actors, the lead actors also mentioned how I Do director Veronica Velasco makes their job easier by accepting their opinions about the scenes that they have to do.

Erich recalled, "Kahit wala sa script, parang adlib-adlib na lang. 'Yong director din namin, okay lang sa kanya, natutuwa naman siya so ayun sobrang light talaga."

Enchong also said, "She lets us do our scene on our own and after that mayroon naman siyang idadagdag kung ano sa tingin niya ang makakabuti. May ibabawas kung ano sa tingin niya 'yong will fit for that scene."

Veronica Velasco was one of the directors of the 2009 Cinemalaya Best Film Last Supper No. 3. Lead actress Erich praised the director by saying, "Nakakatuwa talaga siya. Alam niya kung ano ang gusto niya, she's very focused and at the same time kapag wala namang work, napakamasayahin rin. Masaya kami na nakatrabaho namin siya rito."

I Do is the first mainstream movie of Erich and Enchong together. They first appeared as a couple in the 2009 Cinema One Originals entry Paano Ko Sasabihin?

The Star Cinema film I Do will also feature comedians Pokwang, Dennis Padilla, Melai Cantiveros, Jason Francisco and child star Nash Aguas. It will premiere on September 29, 2010.
