Mas suspense ang dating niya than all-out horror. Magaling si Eric pero Barron really fits the role to a T, yung pagiging barumbado. Mica is really good also. Inay delivers as expected.

Still, you can recommend this movie. The story and performance and technical aspects are above par even if there is less horror than what you see in Feng Shui and Sukob.

Congrats to inay, direk chito and Star Cinema!

I would say that the movie is about 8.5 out of 10 kung i-rate ko.

- AS A WHOLE? Okay lang naman sya.

- Acting wise. No doubt. Maricel na yan eh! Magaling talaga. Promise. Magaling din syempre yung sis ni Angelica. Hehe.

- Di rin boring kasi may halong comedy. Hihihi!

- Yung kwento, okay lang din. Ayoko nalang i-eloborate kasi baka ayaw nyo nang manood kasi alam nyo na yung kwento. Hihihi! Hehehe! Parang after kong nanood, okay. Hahaha!

- Wala masyadong gulatang nangyari. Ano lang.. Yung mga creepy scenes.. Malaking tulong yung sound effects! Kakainis! Kakabahan ka talaga! Hahaha!

- Alam nyo kung saan ako sobrang nadi-disappoint? Sa effects! Hahaha! Lalo na yung nasa kaharian na sila. Maganda sya at first, kasi di ko inakalang may ganong scene pala sa movie. As in shocked ako. Hmmm.. Para kasing ala-Dyosa yung effects na ginamit. Yung change lang ng background at ginawang palasyo instead of the green screen. Hehehe!

Watched the movie yesterday at SM Cebu. As reported here, SM opened two cinemas for T2. A lot of people were at the cinema lobby lounge waiting for their respective screening schedules. We opted for Cinema 8 and went for the 2:48 screening. Sa may ticket box, unti-unting humahaba ang pila and same din when we lined up to enter the theatre. The premiere section was almost full to the extent that it took us some time to look for our seats. Down at the deluxe section, it was 1/3 full. As we sat waiting for the movie to start, people (young and old) were continuously pouring in. I've seen some local films lately and hindi ganito katindi ang attendance on its opening day.

Just felt disappointed with the film. In a way, it didn't turn out the way I expected it to be. Well, I could blame myself for that coz I made the mistake of placing my expectations way too high and setting my barometer against Feng Shui and Sukob. To those planning to catch T2 in theatres, I would strongly suggest that before you enter the cinema you drop whatever expectations you have and leave Feng Shui and Sukob behind. Surely, with this in mind, yoo'll better appreciate the movie. T2 stands on its own. Not the usual horror outing were all used to. Na-realize ko na iba talaga ang intentions ni Direk Chito for this movie. Right from the very start, he has been openly emphasizing in his interviews that he has a totally different treatment for this movie. Twas just like saying or pre-conditioning us na not to expect it to be like Feng Shui and Sukob. Kung ang Feng Shui and Sukob more on raw, hardcore horror, T2 naman more on the story and drama. It's horror take was made just eerie and creepy, just the right blend and dose enough to give you goosebumps but not relying on really scary images that sends you endlessly screaming. Tama yung sabi ni Direk that this time he wants to show realism, strongly based on true accounts of peolple who had these otherwordly encounters that's why hindi ganun katindi ang scare factor coz he wants the scenes believable.

Another thing, I didn't like the idea that they have practically divulged the movie's plot (all the twists and turns) before the movie opened. If you have been consistently tracking down this project right from the very start and carefully reading all of its write-ups based on interviews, you'll get the whole story. If you string all of those bits and pieces of plot revelations (pertaining to their roles and story flow), then alam mo na what to expect. Sana they could have kept mum bout those twists, main points ng story during their interviews. They just saved all the more complicated CGI effects. The engkanto world effects were impressive but yung pagtatagpo doon had a very fancy feel to me. Parang medyo nawala yung kilabot. They could have made that encounter 'darker' kasi pang climax. Then yung pahabol ending medyo similar sa isang scene sa Sigaw. Sana rin they could have made the engkantos look a bit scarier maybe somewhat ethereal sila or floating, ghost-like. Just a slight improvement. Plus I noticed na may philtrum pa rin sila.

Sa acting, wala akong masabi. Lahat magagaling. Superb, very effective especially the conversations between Claire (Ms. Maricel) and Elias (Mr. Fructuoso) which were injected with humor. Nakakaaliw. Sabi nga ng sis ko she loved Ms. Maricel's portrayal here coz she was so natural. Since this is an attempt to do a drama, in effect, nagmemellow down ang horror/kilabot kasi from time to time Claire's marital problems get into the picture (like everytime the phone rings) and it disrupts the movie's eerie momentum.

The CG effects were well made, fairly looks real but some scenes if you look closely halata pa rin but still passable. Scoring nice, mala-Alien Resurrection. Ok naman ang story and screenplay.

Fave scenes---I personally liked the creepy intro, then that scene when Claire was really drunk, walking alone then she saw this.........manood na lang. hehe. Also that scene sa ferry near where the cars were parked when she walked closer to get a clearer view of the darkly lit images she saw. Scary. And yes, that creepy 'spider-man'! Simple scenes but giving you an eerie feel. I liked the events that occurred on their road trip better than those that happened while they were at the tenement. Mas may tatak sa kin.

Overall, maganda naman ang movie. Medyo naninibago lang ako ni Direk Roño this time. Iba kasi horror nya this time. Suave, may finesse.

Still gonna watch it again tonight to check the attendance at the Ayala Cinema. Now that I have come to terms with Direk Chito Roños real intentions in mind, it's like I'm appreciating the movie even more this time.
