The 2009 Metro Manila Film Festival is opening on Dec. 25 with only FIVE official entries instead of SEVEN, namely, Sharon Cuneta’s “Mano Po 6: My Mother’s Love,” “Shake, Rattle & Roll XI,” Dolphy’s “Nobody, nobody But Juan.” “Ang Panday” and “Darling Kong Aswang.” “Wapakman” will open on Dec. 27 due to delayed submission as caused by Krista Ranillo’s unavailability to shoot. And “I Love You...Goodbye” is scheduled originally to open Jan. 1, 2010!
This opening scheme will prove advantageous to the filmfest as it will cut down competition and introduce variety midway through the fest.
All seven official entries will participate in the Parade of Stars on Dec. 24.
