No. Work is a blessing and hindi naman namin ginugusto na hindi na ako magtatrabaho. He knows that he is my priority kasi eh. Whenever he needs me I will be there for him. Siya pa rin ’yung number one priority ko,” paglilinaw ni Mariel.
Hindi rin nagpapaapekto ang TV host sa mga balita tungkol sa kinita ng pelikula nilang TUM: My Pledge of Love na pinaghirapan nilang mag-asawa.
“Actually, we don’t talk about those things. We are not affected by those things. Ang sa amin is the reaction of the people who watched it. So far we’re so blessed kasi napakaganda ng sinasabi ng mga nanood. Talagang abot-langit ang aming pasasalamat,” dagdag pa ni Mariel. Reports from JAMES C. CANTOS

Based from the box-office report of Box Office Mojo for the period of June 9 to 13, 2010, the Chito Roño film only grossed P1.9 million in 50 theaters nationwide. According to reports, the ambitious film project by the Film Development Council of the Philippines together with the Cultural Center of the Philippines and Viva Films costs more than P50 million to produce. By virtue of it’s opening weekend gross of P1.9 million, the groundbreaking film is an official box office flop.
On the other hand, Noy the Movie which is produced by CineMedia and distributed by Star Cinema raked-in a modest P9.9 million in two weeks of screening. Budget-wise, the Coco Martin-starrer has a lower production cost than Emir.
Meanwhile, Here Comes the Bride raked-in a total of P117.1 million in 5 weeks. It’s now the second top-grossing pinoy film of 2010 next to John Lloyd Cruz‘ Miss You Like Crazy.
Ruling RP box-office for the period of June 9 to 13 was Karate Kid with opening weekend gross of P44.18 million.

According to Forbes, Ferrell’s films in the last 12 months earn an average of $3.29 for every dollar he was paid. His last film “Land of the Lost” made $49,392,095.00 but the film’s production cost is $100 million making it a major flop for a big-budget summer event film.
Here are the year’s Top 10 “Flop” stars in Hollywood, if you must:
1. Will Ferrell – 1$:$3.29
2. Ewan McGregor – $1:$3.75
3. Billy Bob Thornthon – 1$:$4
4. Eddie Murphy – 1$:$4.43
5. Ice Cube – 1$:$4.47
6. Tom Cruise – $1:$7.18
7. Drew Barrymore – $1:$7.43
8. Leonardo DiCaprio – $1:$7.52
9. Samuel L. Jackson – $1:$7.59
10. Jim Carrey – $1:$8.62
In contrast, the year’s most bankable star is Shia LaBeouf. The Transformers star made an average of $160 for every dollar of his compensation.

After speculations and guessing games, the American website boxofficemojo.com was able to give an idea on how the Regal Films horror movie “Tarot” fared at the box office.
In the September 9-13, 2009 report of Box Office Mojo, Eugene Domingo’s “Kimmy Dora” is soaring at no. 1 with a two-week gross of P50.58 million besting debuting Hollywood movies such as The Grudge 3 (#3), Gamer (#5), I Love You Beth Cooper (#6) and Management (#8).
The Marian Rivera and Dennis Trillo starrer is running in its 3rd week that time and it placed 16th in the list of 22 movies. Its reported total in Mega Manila is US$375,221.00 or P18,138.183.14. If we are to include provincial theaters, the film could have grossed an approximate P23 million nationwide which is still a box office flop.
AFTER the video release “The Echo,” a Hollywood remake of “Sigaw,” in the US, it would only be logical for director Yam Laranas to follow it up with another horror flick. After all, he has shown that he has the natural acumen for keeping people glued to their seats in anticipating what was to happen next.
“Patient X” showing this Halloween season is an aswang or local vampire story with chilling sequences, not brought about by special effects but purely by the talent of director Yam in building up the suspense. Richard Gutierrez is not only the lead star as a doctor, but producer as well with his own outfit in cooperation with Viva Films and GMA Films. The lovely Christine Reyes is the title holder.
Why do people love to be frightened? We don’t know. We just know that there are those who patronize scary movies then go home to sleep with all the lights on for fear that what they have just watched would trail them home. At Megamall when we watched, a group of four youngsters sitting in front of us had their cellphone lights open throughout the particularly scary scenes. They wanted to make sure no aswang would be sitting beside them.
At the risk of being a spoiler we’d like to share some observations good and bad. Richard’s many action encounters including shootouts with the aswangs and running around the hospital could have been aided by more appropriate makeup. The matinee idol looked too much like the matinee idol that he is, instead of a man in the grips of the unknown. He was much too clean, his hair much too well coiffed for the role. Christine was better deglamorized which aided in establishing the tension of the movie. The aswangs on the prowl growled too much, we couldn’t tell if they were ready to transform into wolves at any moment since they appeared at a loss of what to do. For such important major support roles, there are many veteran contrabidas in our ranks who might provide better interpretation and atmosphere.
We were also disappointed by the sparse crowd at the time we watched. Possibly moviegoers were saving their movie money for the visit to the cemetery. It could also be because, especially at the Megamall, large standees announcing the coming of Twilight’s New Moon could unwittingly have given vampire movie enthusiasts another alternative.
Speaking of Twilight, we couldn’t help thinking how it could have been even more bittersweet had director Yam extended the palpable attraction between Richard and Christine a few more minutes in the ending sequence. We are certain tears would fall. Everyone loves a story of impossible love, even in a horror movie.

Romano, Louella, and Isabel now face the biggest fight of their lives. How to defeat the wrath of the evil spirit and survive the constant threat of death in their lives.
Very unexpected talaga na manonood ako ng movie na ito. I thought it was an indie film because of the title "Sundot" but it was just a joke by my friend. The real title is Sundo starring Robin Padilla, Sunshine Dizon, Rhian Ramos, Mark Bautista, and some others.
The movie is very predictable like any of the other asian horror films. It is also very similar to Final Destination movie with some Premonitions alike. I am not terrified a lot pero inaamin ko na nagulat ako sa mga scenes especially 'yung kay Robin.
Well, overall, I am not that satisfied with the movie like my groupmates' reactions. Huh!? I aslways watch kasi asian horror films and know what's original and what's not. This time, eventhough they say that this is the fruit of their creative team, I don't know if I will still believe in them.

As of November 30, 2008, 'One True Love', which premiered in theaters last November 19, has a total gross earnings of 53.2 million pesos, which only ranks 11th highest grossing film of the year.
I expected a lot from this movie especially that their teleseryes were consistent in getting 40+ ratings, according to AGB Nielsen Media Research.
In February, Marian was paired to Richard Gutierrez in the Valentine movie 'My Bestfriend's Girlfriend' and it was a hit, currently #4 in the Philippine Box Office for 2008.
But, with the "not so favorable" box-office results of 'One True Love', it's safe to say that the success of 'My Bestfriend's Girlfriend' can be solely attributed to Richard, who also made another hit last August via 'For the First Time' with KC Concepcion.
Meanwhile, 'Scaregivers' which stars Jose Manalo and Wally Bayola had an amazing start, with a 5-day box-office gross of 13.9 million pesos.

The most controversial love team of the hour, Marian Rivera and Dingdong Dantes, will star in a romantic drama “One True Love.”
Synopsis: Medical intern named Migs (Dingdong Dantes) will have to deal with the conflict between his heart and his mind. After three years of courtship, he is about to get married to Joy (Marian Rivera), a nurse who works in the same hospital as him. However, days before the wedding, his first love Bella (Iza Calzado) returns to the Philippines. The balikbayan is still single and still in love with Migs, whom she broke up with in the past when her family migrated to the United States for their restaurant business.
The women in Migs’s life try to get along with each other but knowing that they are both in love with the same man give rise to feelings of jealousy and envy. When Migs gets into an accident, he develops lacunar amnesia, a type pf amnesia that blocks off time periods from one’s memory. In his case, it blocks off the three years that he was in love with Joy and leaving him with memories of Bella.
Also starring in One True Love are Iza Calzado, Jennica Garcia, Pinky Marquez, Bianca King, Tessie Tomas, Boots Anson Roa and Chinggoy Alonzo.
One True Love is a co-production of Regal Films and GMA films written by Maryo J. delos Reyes and directed by Mac Alejandre. Coming to theaters nationwide on November 19, 2008.
Migs (played by Dingdong) is a medical intern about to get married to a nurse named Joy (played by Marian). Days before the wedding, his first love Bella (Iza) returns to the Philippines. Bella is still single and still in love with Migs determined to fight for her love. Migs then figures into an accident and develops lacunar amnesia and he forgets about his relationship with Joy, leaving him with memories of Bella. Joy finds it difficult to accept what happened but vows to make Mig’s heart remember what his mind cannot.
Untrue Love
by Philbert Ortiz Dy
On paper, One True Love has a lot of things going for it. The premise is somewhat compelling, and the cast brings in a lot of talent. In practice, however, things don’t work out that way, as a few bad habits rear their ugly heads and leave the film decidedly subpar.
After one year of dating, Migs proposes to his girlfriend, Joy, and she happily accepts. When Migs tells the news to his family, his sister Ara then gives the news to Migs’ first love Bela, who lives in Canada. Bela returns to the country to give their love one last try, but Migs chooses Joy. The day after their wedding, Migs gets into a motorcycle accident. He wakes up with partial amnesia, unable to remember Joy and under the impression that he’s still with Bela. After getting him through physical therapy, Joy does everything she can to bring back his memory, but Migs continues to be drawn to Bela, leaving husband and wife to be strangers in their own home.
The story has a really great hook, but the script doesn’t really have the substance to back it up. While the script gets points for an attempt at emotional sophistication, it ultimately doesn’t go there, painting the characters in broad strokes that just don’t ring true. The character of Bela in particular lacks the consistency needed to let her plight really resonate. It doesn’t help that a lot of the situations in the script aren’t portrayed in a realistic light. It’s difficult enough to accept that a woman who left her boyfriend to go to Canada would suddenly go back to the country on a whim just to disrupt a wedding, but this is also a world where a woman takes a pregnancy test just because she sees one, and a woman won’t call her husband’s phone (or the phone of the person she suspects him to be with) when he goes missing. A myriad of plot holes keep the film from rising emotionally, as it feels like the choices of the characters were made just for the convenience of the filmmakers.
The film suffers from tone as well. Practically every scene in this film is undercut by a soaring score that really does nothing for the entire picture. It’s like they don’t trust their own material, leaning on the score to tell people how they’re supposed to feel. It’s terribly annoying, and it hampers the film from letting its action rise. When every scene feels the same, the movie suffers as a whole. There are a few technical hiccups as well. The color grading shifts from shot to shot, which is just a baffling mistake. Movies with a fraction of this film’s budget don’t make that mistake. The film gains a few points in the acting department, though they’re pretty hard won as well. There’s somewhat of a soap opera feel to the production, which affects the acting as well. It just doesn’t feel as good as it could be, had the actors been given room to find a more genuine place to start from. Marian Rivera turns in a pretty decent performace. Iza Calzado is still one of the finest actors on our shores, though her character has most definitely gotten in the way of her performance. Dingdong Dantes makes a pretty good leading man, even if he tends to fall back on the same three tricks to get his point across.
Honestly, I came into the theater ready to love One True Love. I was intrigued by the premise, and Iza Calzado is just about my favorite actress. But this film just betrayed me at every turn, with glaring technical deficiencies and absolutely baffling scripting choices. It’s frustrating, because it feels like the pieces were all there, but the filmmakers just didn’t care enough to put them all together, instead choosing to just take the most convenient path to a completed movie. That never produces anything good.

Destiny. Is it beyond our control? Or do we make our own? These questions and other musings about the past and the future set the tone as GMA Films sets sail with a sidesplitting comedy about life on the high seas.In the movie I.T.A.L.Y. (I Trust and Love You), six people are brought together on a seven-day cruise that will change their lives forever.
A hopeless romantic (Jolina Magdangal) searches for the right man for her, while dreaming of becoming a singer. Destiny "Des" Pinlac believes that Paolo Guzman (Dennis Trillo) fits the three signs that she has been asking for but she is surprised by what fate has in store for her.
A successful businessman named Paolo (Dennis) is searching for the truth about an Italian woman from his past. A series of letters will finally reveal what happened to his former girlfriend Sophia.
A senior housekeeper named Lovely Mercado (Eugene Domingo) finds out that it is never too late to find true love.
A young waiter called Nathan Reyes (Mark Herras) finds the woman of his dreams, but she is beyond his reach.
A young brat (Rhian Ramos) finds out that love does not have to be as complicated as her love-hate relationship with her mother. Phoebe Villaroso is celebrating her graduation by joining this cruise.
And a sexy lounge singer (Rufa Mae Quinto) searches for the perfect man who will keep his promises and who will never leave her. Stella Sembrano is known on the cruise ship Costa Magica as the materialistic diva of torch songs.
This comedy-romance-drama-musical will make you swoon, cry, laugh, and fall in love all over again.
