Last week, I agreed to watch "A Very Special Love" with my daughter, Nicole at the Robinson's Galleria Mall in Ortigas. She had a great, great CRUSH on John Lloyd Cruz since she was in Grade School..and I also find Lloydie a cutie...aside from the fact that I admire the way he acts.
My daughter said that she has watched ALL John Lloyd's movies! Totoo naman kasi...that he's just simply CUTE!

At my age, I still love watching teen-movies coz it takes away STRESS and relaxes me, especially movies like "A very Special Love", which is a romantic-comedy.

I enjoyed the movie because:

1. It was fast-paced
2. There were no boring moments
3. Perfect mix of the comedy and drama
4. There was resolution (that's where Monster Mom failed big time!)
5. NAKAKAKILIG!

Well it does have the usual Pinoy-kilig-movie formula, but I must say that the story-line was refreshing, creative and light. It's a feel-good movie that will definitely lift your spirits and make you gush over the leading man (fan na rin ako ni John Lloyd! hehe).

The Llody-Sarah tandem worked not only because they have natural chemistry, but also because it's not pilit. They each have their own following and are established artists. The characters they portrayed simply fit and they obviously had fun doing the movie.

I had so much fun that afternoon and I'm happy to report too that my daughter laughed and shed a tear or two with me (haha! sssshh!!) babaw kasi luha ko eh)
One of the best scenes and is a defining moment for Miggy, the character of John Lloyd Cruz. After realizing what his editorial assistant Laida, the character of Sarah Geronimo, sacrificed for him?things began changing.

My daughter was not thrilled though' with the John Lloyd-Sarah team up as she has been used with the loveteam of Lloydie and Bea Alonzo. Their love team has a huge following, and their chemistry has been tried and tested by the producers.
Generally, ?It?s nakakaaliw?and more?

Here are five reasons why it?s a must-see movie:

1. Sarah Geronimo is a natural. She can be ridiculously funny, utterly charming, and madly in love with the man of her dreams without being OA (overacting) or TH (trying hard). I like the way she assimilated the character of Laida. It?s as if the role was created for her.

Another thing, she?s not self-conscious at all, unlike some of the young actresses who seem more concerned about how they look. In short, walang arte and walang kiyeme. Her portrayal of the role reminds me of Anne Hathaway in Princess Diaries and even The Devil Wears Prada.

She?s really hilarious and cute!

2. John Lloyd is quite effective in playing the ?Scrooge? character of Miggy. I am using the word ?quite,? because it is quite impossible to despise a guy who?s very handsome on screen. As a young boss who runs a magazine, he is difficult to work with, but not formidable enough. I don?t know if that?s the director?s real intent.

The scene with his dad, who is played by Dante Rivero, is one stirring moment. John Lloyd?s delivery, his facial expression, and his emotions are all expressed intensely. I find myself crying as well.

He looks good and he is good.

3. The movie has a commendable cast.

4. The story is neither too profound nor too light. Tamang-tama sa panlasa ng Pinoy.

It's about finding one's self, accepting the will of fate, and being brave enough to pursue happiness.

The movie is successful in making the people laugh, and even more successful in making them so kilig. Whether the viewer is single or in love or heartbroken, the movie will make him/her feel good. And please, take note of the lines..they might come in handy.

The movie has introduced several out of the box ideas - - the post-it notes on the boss's cup of coffee, the now popular "rain dance", and of course, Miggy's super kilig way of winning back the heart of Laida.

What's important is that the movie has erased my skepticism about Sarah's team-up with John Lloyd.

So, just sit back, relax and watch "A Very Special Love"

I just agreed to what kikay1925 have said.
